One Day Guitar Set Up Courses for 2012

The day is designed to ensure you have plenty of hands-on experience in a working environment, with ample opportunity to discuss your individual needs along with an open question and answer forum. With this in mind and to maintain a casual, but intimate event, no more than 4 delegates will attend on each given date.

Course content includes the following: -

For acoustic guitars

  • Checking neck relief and adjustment of truss-rods to suit playing style
  • Slotting top nuts and checking string height at the nut
  • Check saddle height and adjustment
  • Setting action height
  • Levelling and re-dressing frets
  • Care of fretboard and more generally the guitar’s finish
  • Servicing tuning keys and making adjustments where necessary
  • Replacing and fitting bridge pins
  • Pickup installation – this covers fitting transducers, internal mics and end-pin jacks

For electric guitars

  • Checking neck relief and adjustment of truss-rods to suit playing style
  • Slotting top nuts and checking string height at the nut
  • Re-setting locking nuts for Floyd Rose style trems
  • Check saddle height and adjustment
  • Setting action height
  • Setting and adjusting tremolo units
  • Levelling and re-dressing frets
  • Care of fretboard and more generally the guitar’s finish
  • Servicing tuning keys and making adjustments where necessary
  • Wiring – general maintenance, cleaning and pickup installation

A signed certificate will be awarded to every delegate attending the course.

Prompt start at 10am and finish at around 5pm. A light lunch will be provided along with tea, coffee and soft drinks throughout the day. If you would like to stay in Oswestry or the surrounds such as Llangollen or Chester for the night or weekend we would be happy to help you with hotel suggestions.

Cost per delegate: £210.00 + VAT
